Who is Sylvain Subervie?
sylvain-subervie.jpgSylvain SUBERVIE born in Suresnes on July 27, 1950, a self-taught man, has rubbed shoulders with the most famous people in Fashion for 20 years. From Pierre Cardin, Jean Charles de Castelbajac, Angelo Tarlazzi, Christian Lacroix with the Princess Tam Tam trademark, he has learnt the attraction of the invaluable things, the keen sense of materials and forms and he has sharpened his instinctive sense of communication from them.
What challenges, at first sight, are the blue eyes, hard and merry, sparkling with the present moment and filled up with the pains of the past time. A look resolutely turned towards the future, Sylvain SUBERVIE shows a powerful serenity “one day without any emotion is one sterile day” he said.
From this man emerge generosity, passion and a permanent need for truth.

Madagascar, his place of word for 14 years, has offered this truth, the one that few people wish to look at, the one that disturbs in the deepest side of oneself, the one that exposes oneself. From that, he has drawn a message of strength which we immediately feel in his work. Without any ornament, the works are well camped as if they are buried in the ground by roots, parts which he wishes to be solid, the curves are pure and tended, the simplicity of symmetry prevails.

He draws his style from waves of emotions which upset and cross him, neither drawing copybooks nor research task, an unbounded expectation, for finally getting the completed drawing, without any concession, no correction, but an assertion.
